I totally forgot! We have rather left some spiritual practices behind us. My husband gave up Catholicism for Lent about 40 years ago. An altar boy, in a small town. There was much fighting between Catholics and Protestants, all in the name of Christianity. Catholic school wasn't any fun for him, either! He was so surprised, many years later, when visiting his mother in a senior's home. Women, who would cross the street to avoid each other, were now playing bridge together in the home!
I wrote a poem in honour of my late parents. They were the ones who were so faithful to the spirit of Christianity.
Yep. Everybody in my family looks like that today as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me. Seldom seen in these parts.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for a meaningful & beautiful season! Aloha

Travis - Wm was upset that his didn't show much, but then again it itched. "Can I itch it, Mom?"
ReplyDeleteKeith - not here either, though more and more are adopting Catholic rituals when even not Catholic.
Thank you, Cloudia.
