In the Early Morning Light....
...one of the three chicks, now nearly full grown but not quite, couldn't contain himself and crowed, revealing his true identity. Actually, we suspect two of the three are males, but I can't prove it until I SEE him (them) crow. But there it is, we have another rooster. We need eggs, not roosters.

What do you do with them if they turn out to be roosters? Let them grow big enough to be eaten? Or do they become pets? Amazingly, a few people in the Los Angeles suburbs keep chickens. I remember hearing a rooster crow when we lived in Walnut, CA. I'm glad I don't live near one as I need my sleep in the early morn.
