Hello Junosmom,
Wow. Anna is talented. Have you posted the picture which is in the gold star national finals?
And good for you with the deer, dear. Although it is exactly what I would have expected from you, still it is nice when anticipated expectations are realized.
Tschuess,
Chris
Postscript
Great news about your Dad. Now get your rest.
Thank you, Chris.
Of Anna's three paintings that won awards regionally, the Gold Key Award is at http://lifetimelearning.blogspot.com/2008/11/temptation-by-anna.html
This will now go to the national contest - well, I guess she did make the national finals if you look at it that way - but she's not (yet) won a national award.
BTW, I never thanked you for taking the time to look back and tell me what blogs o'mine that you liked most. I was intrigued at the ones you chose! Before all the dad stuff, I intended to make a short list or repost my favorite, but I am now sidetracked. I must work with Wm's homework and pay bills before getting to it - it take more effort than just writing (funny isn't it, more effort to review than just write) but I'll get to it.
Cathy, I never cease to be amazed by Anna's talent. Such a gift! We're so proud of her, as are you, I know.
I am so glad Uncle George is doing better. Can he have phone calls yet? Please email me the number if so.
Love, Robin
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, Robin. I forgot to add the painting she is doing of Lauren, so I've added it now.
I'll email you separately about dad. He is going home today.
Postcards. Postcards. Postcards. I'm willing to put up some money for some. She's amazing.
Junosmom, You are very welcome.
It sounds like things are going well in the genwich.com generation!
Good for you!
I am continuing to lobby for the rights of family members to information on elderly parents. Even with our Medicare, our privacy laws and lack of funding continue to prevent our ailing seniors from getting the care they deserve.
One in five women age 30 - 64 are spending 28 hours per week providing care for family or friends. The social, emotional cost on caregivers is extensive in North America as health care workers expect us to bear the brunt of the burden, whether we are working outside or inside our homes, with other responsibilities.
I am taking palliative care training next month, since we totally depend on non-profits and volunteers to help seniors stay at home in dignity.
Wow! I've missed you (crazy busy here!) but these paintings are stunning! Anna is beyond talented, she's more headlong into the "gifted" portion of the evening! How exciting to watch a budding artist!
Wow, I can't even write my name legibly half the time...they're beautiful...good luck to her...I'm thinking "protege"!
