Protesting the Protesters

Let's see, there's Darfur, the war in Iraq, the state of our educational system, global warming, child pornography and slavery, kids dying of malnutrition in our own country, the state of the foster care system here in the U.S., all sorts of human rights atrocities, and these people got out of bed, got signs ready, and spent human energy to protest spelling in the English language. Notice they don't use simplified spelling on their own website. Why not? Likely, because no one would read it.

Personally, I don't agree. I think the different spellings not only link back to their origin, they also make the English language interesting. For example, their limericks are quite amusing. If spelling was simplified, we would not be able to laff laugh about the inconsistencies.
